- Woman in court after explosion in children's bedroom window

A 43-year-old woman will have to answer charges at the Regional Court of Hannover from Friday (9:00 AM) due to the explosion of a firecracker in front of a child's bedroom window in Langenhagen near Hannover. The defendant is accused of throwing the explosive device onto the balcony of an apartment on Christmas Eve last year.

She allegedly believed that the resident was in a relationship with her former partner, the court stated. The firecracker is said to have exploded on the windowsill in front of the room of the three-year-old girl. The sleeping child was reportedly thrown out of her bed by the blast wave but remained physically unharmed. The mother suffered a shock. Windows and the child's room were destroyed, and the building was significantly damaged.

According to court records, the defendant admitted to throwing the firecracker. Three trial days have been scheduled for the process. A verdict could be reached by August 26. Specifically, the woman is charged with causing an explosion, violating the Explosives Act, bodily injury, and property damage.

The defendant's case, involving the explosion of a firecracker and subsequent charges, will be heard at the Court of First Instance after the Regional Court proceedings conclude. Regardless of the verdict at the Regional Court, the next stage of her trial will take place at the Court of First Instance.
