A 37-year-old man is set to face trial at the Berlin Regional Court from Tuesday (9:15 am) for allegedly stealing chains from several individuals, causing grievous harm to one of them. The prosecution is bringing charges against him for attempted murder, robbery, armed robbery, and dangerous bodily harm.

In June 2023, the man is accused of grabbing a 51-year-old woman's gold chain from behind in a shop located in Berlin-Neukölln during the late hours. As he attempted to speed away in his car, the victim attempted to retrieve her necklace. The defendant allegedly dragged the woman with him, and she became pinned against a parked vehicle, leading to severe injuries.

The month of June also saw the man snatch chains from five other individuals, according to the investigation. A total of six trial days have been set aside for this case so far.
