Osnabrück - Woman drives into concrete wall in underground parking garage and dies

A woman has driven into a concrete wall in an underground parking garage in Osnabrück and died. When she was standing in front of the entrance barrier on Tuesday morning, she probably mixed up the accelerator and brake pedals, the police said. The 85-year-old was seriously injured and later died in hospital.

The woman was trapped in her car due to the impact with the wall. Firefighters freed her so that she could be taken to hospital. The entrance to the underground car park was closed for hours, but parked cars were still able to leave. The woman's car was no longer drivable and was towed away.
