Investigations - Woman dies in Wetzlar - suspects in custody
A suspect has been remanded in custody for allegedly stabbing a 35-year-old woman to death in Wetzlar. As the public prosecutor's office in Wetzlar and the Lahn-Dill police department jointly announced on Wednesday, the 59-year-old had alerted the emergency services herself last Saturday and reported a lifeless person in an apartment. Rescue workers rushed to the scene discovered that the 35-year-old had died.
The suspect, who had remained in the apartment, was then arrested by the police. According to initial investigations, the victim succumbed to a stab wound. The alleged murder weapon was seized. No further details - such as the background to the crime and the relationship between the two women - were initially given.
According to the information provided, the 59-year-old woman was brought before a magistrate on Sunday, who issued an arrest warrant. Possible witnesses are asked to contact the criminal investigation department in Wetzlar on 06441 918 110.
