A woman has died in an apartment fire in Berlin-Friedenau. The fire department was called to the apartment building in Wilhelm-Hauff-Straße shortly before midnight on Wednesday night, according to the police. A witness had heard a fire alarm go off.

A woman has died in an apartment fire in Berlin-Friedenau. The fire department was called to the apartment building in Wilhelm-Hauff-Straße shortly before midnight on Wednesday night, according to the police. A witness had heard a fire alarm go off.

The firefighters broke down the door of the first floor apartment and found the lifeless 66-year-old tenant in a room during the course of the extinguishing work. According to the police, no other people were injured. According to the information available so far, the police believe that the fire was caused by negligent arson.
