Process - Woman allegedly ordered beating for ex-partner

Incitement to grievous bodily harm is the charge against a 25-year-old woman at Cologne Regional Court on Thursday (9.00 a.m.). According to the indictment, the woman is alleged to have ordered four unknown men to beat up her ex-partner in March 2023. In terms of motive, the prosecution assumes that the woman gave the order out of jealousy and anger over a supposed new relationship with her ex-partner.

The hired thugs are said to have ambushed the man on the forecourt of Cologne-Deutz station at the end of March and then punched and kicked him. They also allegedly kicked the victim hard in the head. One of the as yet unknown perpetrators is also said to have kicked the unconscious victim, who was lying motionless on the ground, at least twice more. The victim later had to undergo emergency surgery in hospital due to his serious injuries. According to the indictment, the man's condition was life-threatening at times.

The trial at the district court is scheduled to last eight trial days until January 24, 2024.
