Wolfsburg's sports director: "No contact with the DFB"

Sports director Ralf Kellermann of VfL Wolfsburg has stated that he is not considering a move to the German Football Association. They are looking for a successor to interim coach Horst Hrubesch with the women's national team as well as a sports director. "I won't be working as a coach anymore and I don't even have the necessary soccer coaching license. There is no contact with the DFB for the position of sports director," Kellermann told the German football magazine "Kicker" (Thursday). "I feel extremely comfortable at VfL Wolfsburg, have helped build everything here and am happy to take on the current challenge of getting back on the road to success."

Kellermann expressed clear criticism of the footballers around Alexandra Popp. "The bare figures in the league are okay. But the way we've earned the 13 points, apart from the first game against Leverkusen, is not what we want," said the 55-year-old. The top match against FC Bayern Munich also ended in a 2-1 defeat at the weekend. "The close result does not reflect the balance of power. We lacked the basics that are part of the game on Sunday, and tactically we didn't implement the instructions one hundred percent."

Despite the Women's Bundesliga team of VfL Wolfsburg facing challenges, including a recent loss against FC Bayern Munich, Ralf Kellermann, the sports director, has ruled out any involvement with the German Football Association (DFB). He mentioned his lack of interest in coaching and necessary soccer coaching license as reasons for not pursuing the role as a sports director with the DFB.
