German Football League - Wolfsburg signs national soccer player Linder.

German footballer Sarai Linder is making a move from Bundesliga team TSG 1899 Hoffenheim to VfL Wolfsburg. The clubs announced the news on Tuesday. The 24-year-old defender, who's played 14 matches for the women's national team, is set to sign a contract with the Wolfsburg team. It's valid until June 2027.

"I'm very honored to be a part of this team and wear the green-white jersey. It was surreal for me to even consider playing for a big club like this, so their interest in me was extremely gratifying," said Linder.

Wolfsburg's football director, Ralf Kellermann, is thrilled with the signing. "Sarai's not just one of the best German defenders right now, but can also play on both wing positions. She's going to be a great addition to our team," stated Kellermann.

After spending 13 years at the Kraichgau-based club, Linder is now set to leave. Hoffenheim had attempted to extend Linder's contract, which was originally set to expire in 2025. However, things didn't quite work out.

"Linder made it clear to us during the season's final stretch that she wanted to leave in the summer," said Hoffenheim's sporting director, Stephan Lerch. "Given our previous experiences with players whose contracts were about to run out, we've managed to secure a sizable transfer fee with her move." No details about the exact fee were shared.
