Wolf hit by car near Amelinghausen
A wolf has been hit by a car near Amelinghausen in the district of Lüneburg and died. The animal succumbed to its injuries at the scene of the accident, as the police announced on Sunday. The responsible wolf commissioner of the district was informed about the accident on Saturday evening.
The local animal welfare organization strongly advises drivers to be extra cautious during nighttime due to the increasing number of wildlife accidents on roads. Emergency services were also called to another incident involving a deer that got stuck in traffic near the city limits.
