Woidke has a cold: Cabinet meeting in Luckenwalde postponed
Due to a cold suffered by Brandenburg's Minister President Dietmar Woidke (SPD), Tuesday's cabinet meeting in Luckenwalde (Teltow-Fläming) has been canceled. The State Chancellery announced on Monday that the citizens' dialog planned for the evening in the Fläminghalle in Luckenwalde would unfortunately also have to be postponed. "The Minister President simply doesn't have the voice," explained government spokesperson Florian Engels.
Despite the cancellation of the external cabinet meeting, Interior Minister Michael Stübgen (CDU) intends to go ahead with a visit to the initial reception center in Wünsdorf. Due to the high number of refugees arriving there, 500 additional places are to be created in containers by the beginning of next year. A further 500 places are to be created in Eisenhüttenstadt by the beginning of 2024.
The postponement of the cabinet meeting and the citizens' dialog is a decision made by the Government due to Minister President Woidke's illness. The Government is still planning to proceed with Interior Minister Stübgen's visit to the refugee reception center, despite the cancellation of the external cabinet meeting.
