Wohlgemuth renews interest in promotion at VfB
Sports director Fabian Wohlgemuth has confirmed his interest in being promoted to the position of sports director at VfB Stuttgart. "I've always said, and I'm happy to repeat, that I can imagine it. The ball is in the supervisory board's court," the 44-year-old told the football magazine "Kicker" (Monday). He has his job and is fully focused on it.
Alexander Wehrle currently holds the positions of CEO and sports director at VfB. The Swabians had already announced some time ago that they wanted to appoint their own sports director again in future. Wehrle recently said that he would trust Wohlgemuth with this position. A promotion is still an option.
Former sporting director Fredi Bobic, Horst Heldt, also a former player and manager at VfB, and Joti Chatzialexiou, currently head of national teams at the German Football Association (DFB), have also been discussed in the VfB environment.
VfB Stuttgart is currently considering promoting Fabian Wohlgemuth to the role of sports director, a position he has expressed interest in. In the Bundesliga, Wohlgemuth has shown his strategic skills as sports director.
