WLAN in the state funded with around six million euros
Free Wi-Fi in the city center of Quedlinburg, in village community centers near Sangerhausen and in Magdeburg Cathedral: more than 100 projects for wireless Internet have been funded by the state of Saxony-Anhalt in recent years. Citizens, businesses and tourists everywhere expect a fast and uncomplicated way to access the internet, said Digital Minister Lydia Hüskens on Wednesday. WLAN is part of public services. In addition to tourist attractions, sports facilities and outdoor swimming pools have also received financial support.
In the pursuit of promoting digital inclusion, municipalities across Saxony-Anhalt are exploring ways to enhance their digitization efforts, often utilizing funds from the state for initiatives like providing Wi-Fi access in public spaces. To further accelerate this process, the state has allocated around six million euros for projects related to Internet connectivity.
