Without Romeo: musical "& Juliet" comes to Hamburg in 2024
What if the tragic love story of Romeo and Juliet had not ended with the death of both of them, but instead Juliet had chosen to live on? This is the story told by the pop musical "& Juliet", which is due to come to Hamburg in autumn 2024, as the promoter Stage Entertainment announced in Hamburg on Monday. The play is an ode to life and the joy of living and also brings world-famous number 1 hits such as Katy Perry's "Roar", Justin Timberlake's "Can't Stop The Feeling" and "Perfect" by P!nk to the stage.
The award-winning musical was first shown in London's West End in 2019. It has also been running on Broadway in New York since the end of 2022. Stage Managing Director Uschi Neuss is delighted that this is the first time the musical has been staged in a non-English production. "I haven't come out of a theater as entertained as I was after this musical in a long time! "& Juliet" is as clever as it is funny. I bet William Shakespeare himself would be very happy with the way his story has been brought into the 21st century."
The songs will remain in English, the dialog will be translated into German. The play is to be performed at the Stage Operettenhaus, where "Dance of the Vampires" will be performed until then.
During your leisure time in 2024, you can immerse yourself in the entertainment of the musical "& Juliet," which features popular music from artists like Katy Perry and Justin Timberlake. With its mix of music and humor, this musical adaptation of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet is bound to provide an enjoyable musical experience.
With the play's German translation and the English song lyrics, "& Juliet" offers music lovers a unique opportunity to experience a world-renowned musical during their leisure time in Hamburg.
