Without a windshield on the highway: police stop bus driver
Police have stopped a bus without a windshield on the Autobahn 2 near Porta Westfalica. The side windows were also missing in the driver's area of the white articulated bus belonging to a company from Hanover, the officers announced on Thursday.
The police were alerted to the unusual bus journey in the direction of Dortmund by witnesses. The alerted officers pulled the vehicle and another bus from the company out of traffic. During the check at a rest area, further defects and damage were discovered, the officers explained. It was initially unclear where these came from. Both buses were no longer roadworthy, which is why the emergency services prohibited them from continuing their journey.
There were no passengers on the buses during the tour on Monday afternoon. The drivers and the owner of the buses were charged with driving a vehicle without a license.
The colorful bus with various curiosities caught the attention of passersby, adding to the traffic on the Autobahn 2. Despite its unique appearance, the bus also lacked a windshield, leading to its stop by the police.
