An intoxicated 27-year-old driver was trapped in his car and seriously injured in Nadrensee (Vorpommern-Greifswald district). According to police information, the rear-end collision occurred on Monday morning at a border crossing to Poland.

The 27-year-old hit a truck without braking, which was traveling at a slower speed due to the traffic. The 27-year-old was trapped. The emergency services freed the seriously injured man and took him to hospital.

A breath test was carried out at the scene of the accident and the man's blood alcohol level was 1.77 per mille. The 44-year-old truck driver was uninjured. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
