Vandalism - Window pane of a member of parliament's office in Bayreuth destroyed

Unknown persons have smashed the window of the office of a Green Party member of parliament in Bayreuth. A spokesperson for the Upper Franconia police headquarters said on Monday that a political background was assumed. The Bayreuth criminal investigation department is investigating and looking for witnesses. The perpetrators used a stone to shatter the window. They must have carried out the attack between midday on Friday and midday on Sunday, the police said.

The constituency office of Tim Pargent, the Bayreuth Green Party member of parliament, is located on the premises. Pargent told the German Press Agency that he was concerned about the attack in the context of society as a whole: "Even during the election campaign, we noticed a brutalization of tone." He assumes a targeted attack on his person or his party.
