European Championship - Wind is looking forward to Germany match: "Something special"

Danish football national team player Jonas Wind from VfL Wolfsburg is looking forward to the EM quarter-final against his homeland Germany. "That's 100% something special. It will be fantastic to play against the host country and hopefully cause a little trouble", said the Bundesliga pro at the Danish team quarters on Thursday. In a repeat of the EURO 1992 final, Germany and Denmark face each other on Saturday evening in Dortmund (9:00 PM/ZDF and MagentaTV).

The 25-year-old Wind has been playing for Wolfsburg since January 2022 and is part of the Danish team at this European Championship. His only problem before the quarter-final is his personal record at Dortmund stadium: With VfL, he lost there so far with a score of 1:6, 0:6 and 0:1. "We shouldn't talk too much about the experiences I've had in this stadium", said Wind. "Because that's not my best statistics."

Jonas Wind, the Danish football player from VfL Wolfsburg, shares European Championship excitement, as his team faces Germany in the quarter-finals. Recalling his adopted country's history, Wind mentions the 1992 EURO final against Germany. Born in Denmark, Wind now hopes to leave an impact on Saturday evening's match in Dortmund (9:00 PM/ZDF and MagentaTV). Despite some challenges at the Dortmund stadium in the past, such as losing three games 1:6, 0:6, and 0:1 with VfL, Wind is determined to focus on the present. With teams like Germany and Denmark representing European soccer excellence, the Round of sixteen at the European Championship promises spectacles in Freudenstadt and beyond.
