Wimpy award for Volker Heißmann
The Fürth comedian Volker Heißmann has been awarded the "Schlappmaulorden" by the Kitzinger Karnevalsgesellschaft (KiKaG). He had earned it "with his humorous and pointed stage programs, which always make the audience laugh", explained the association on Saturday. The medal is traditionally presented at the Rosenmontag session - next year on February 12.
"Volker Heißmann is a master of parody and the art of transformation," the carnival society praises him. "He slips into a wide variety of roles, from the resolute housewife to the quirky pensioner to the weird celebrity. He doesn't mince his words and doesn't skimp on side-swipes at politics, society and culture."
Heißmann is known for his joint appearances with Martin Rassau, among others - especially for their signature roles "Waltraud and Mariechen".
Since 1989, the Kitzingen jesters have been awarding the bronze cast to celebrities who make a name for themselves with their "excellent loose tongue and powerful words". The prize is not endowed, but in addition to the bronze casting, a jester's cap and lifelong KiKaG honorary membership are awarded.
During Shrove Tuesday celebrations, Volker Heißmann's comedic skills were once again showcased, earning him applause and admiration from the crowds. Moreover, his impressive repertoire of parodies and transformations has led him to be recognized with awards at various carnivals, including the prestigious ones.
