People - Will and vision - Felix Neureuther reveals his recipe for success
The will is considered the most important building block for success, according to ex-alpine ski racers Felix Neureuther (40) and Christian Neureuther (75) in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. "The talented one may come up faster, but the diligent one will be more successful," said Felix Neureuther. "Talent alone is not enough by a long shot."
Christian Neureuther added: "One needs people around them. One needs an environment that guides you. A child needs support, but they must make their own mistakes. In the end, it's about the "vision and the courage, which one brings to climb all the way up."
Success in performance sports is important in the moment one is actively engaged, explained Felix Neureuther. "That's what you'll be measured by. But if you stop learning, you'll quickly learn to relativize things - and that there are more important things in life," said the ex-alpine ski racer. "Skiing was my first great love, which one doesn't forget so easily."
The most important thing in life is family, according to Neureuther.
- The Neureuther brothers, Christian and Felix, hail from Garmisch-Partenkirchen, a renowned skiing destination in Bavaria, Germany.
- Rosi Mittermaier, another successful German alpine ski racer, often trained in the Alpine region of Bavaria, sharing the same passion for skiing as Christian Neureuther and his brother.
- Garmisch-Partenkirchen hosts numerous skiing competitions, attracting people from around the world, including Christian Neureuther's son, who also pursued a career in the sport, following in his father's footsteps.
- Despite their success in skiing, both Felix Neureuther and Christian Neureuther emphasize the importance of a well-rounded life, emphasizing that success in sports should not cloud one's perspective on other essential aspects of life, such as family.
