"I was delighted to train with the Special Olympics athletes today and to pass on my tips as a former competitive athlete. The atmosphere in the team is great, everyone is looking forward to the National Games starting soon," said Kati Wilhelm after the training session.
At the National Winter Games, 900 athletes and unified partners will take part in a total of ten winter sports competitions. During the five days in Erfurt, Oberhof and Weimar, the athletes can qualify for the Special Olympics 2025 Winter World Games in Turin.
