Aachen city region - Wife stabbed to death in DIY store parking lot: Verdict expected
The verdict in the murder trial against a 37-year-old man at Aachen District Court is expected on Monday. At the beginning of the trial, the accused confessed in a brief statement that he had killed his wife, who was living apart from him. The 28-year-old had moved to a women's shelter in Iserlohn with their three children. On the day of the crime, she had arranged to meet the man in the parking lot of a DIY store to pick up a child. She had written in a diary about the man's disproportionate jealousy and addiction to control. The Kosovar is said not to have accepted the separation.
The public prosecutor had requested a conviction for murder and a finding of particular gravity of guilt. The defense wants a conviction for manslaughter. The trial is taking place under strict security precautions.
