Dance - Wiesbaden theater seeks participants for nude dance project
The Hessian State Theater in Wiesbaden is looking for adults who are willing to appear naked on stage for a performance. For the project "Habitat" by choreographer Doris Uhlich, people with an interest in movement are welcome, even without dance experience, the theater announced. So far, there have been around a dozen applications, and more will be accepted, a spokesperson said. "There is no fixed number of how many people are needed - the more, the better."
As in previous pieces by Uhlich, the work with the naked body is at the center. "Habitat" will show it in its strength and fragility. Participants and participants will celebrate their unity and diversity to electronic sounds and techno tracks, according to the call.
The term "statists" is not suitable, as there will be no solo performers or performers in the project. "The people who participate are in their entirety the protagonists - they perform as a group," explained the spokesperson. Dancers and dancers of the Hessian State Ballet are not involved.
The performances are planned for the opening weekend of the new intendancy of Dorothea Hartmann and Beate Heine at the end of September. A compensation of 200 Euros will be paid. The theater confirmed that there is no place for pranksters and voyeurism. A general photo- and film ban for private purposes applies.
