Heidi Beckenbauer will be the one carrying the trophy onto the field during the start of the European Championship on Friday. This news is from Ippen Media Group on Tuesday. Accompanying her in this important moment will be Jürgen Klinsmann and Bernd Dietz before the match between the German national team and Scotland (9 p.m./ZDF and MagentaTV).

Both Klinsmann and Dietz were captains when Germany won the European Championship in 1996 and 1980, respectively. The first European Championship win for Germany happened under the leadership of Franz Beckenbauer back in 1972.
