White House: Biden is not being treated for Parkinson's disease

Previously, the "New York Times" reported that Dr. Kevin Cannard, a neurologist specializing in Parkinson's disease, had visited the White House eight times between the summer of 2023 and this spring. Press Secretary Jean-Pierre asked reporters for "respect" in response to speculations about Biden's constitution.

Previously, National Security Council Spokesperson John Kirby had also commented on the matter. Kirby told journalists that NATO allies, who were gathering for a summit in Washington this week, had no concerns regarding Biden's leadership qualities.

"The question assumes that they would need to be reassured about American leadership and President Biden's engagement," Kirby replied to a related journalist question. He did not believe "that is the case," Kirby added. "We have not detected any such signs from our allies."

The 81-year-old Biden has faced an increasingly contentious debate within his own party about his mental fitness for the presidency following his disastrous television debate performance against his rival Donald Trump at the end of June. However, Biden has stated that he is "determined" to remain in the presidential race.
