Third division - When Wiesbaden reorganizes and reinstates Stöver

A third-division football team, SV Wehen Wiesbaden, is reworking their sports administration. Uwe Stoever has been brought on as the new sports manager, according to a statement from the organization last Friday. Stoever is returning to Wiesbaden having previously served as the sports manager at the club from November 2007 to March 2009. In his most recent employment, the 57-year-old held this position at Bundesliga promotion team Holstein Kiel. "I'm thrilled to come back to SVWW and am eager to take on this task with great excitement," Stoever commented.

The previous sports manager, Nico Schäfer, is transitioning to the newly established position of Chairman of the Board of Managers. He'll also be joined by Paul Specht in the newly-formed financial department. The role of sports director at Wiesbaden is no longer present. Paul Fernie, who moved to SV Darmstadt 98, formerly filled this role until April.

With the consistent growth of tasks and demands, the supervisory board has made the decision to broaden their management team for future challenges. "We consider SVWW well-prepared for upcoming challenges in its current setup," remarked Markus Hankammer, chairman of the supervisory board at SV Wehen, several days after their relegation to the second league.

Stoever's return to SV Wehen Wiesbaden marks his second stint with the third-division club, having previously managed the team from November 2007 to March 2009. Holstein Kiel, a Bundesliga promotion team, was his most recent employer, where he held the position of sports manager. The reorganization of SV Wehen Wiesbaden's sports administration also led to the appointment of Nico Schäfer as the Chairman of the Board of Managers, a new position created within the club. Furthermore, the absence of a sports director role at Wiesbaden was highlighted, a position previously held by Paul Fernie, who is now with SV Darmstadt 98.

In spite of the relegation to the second league, Markus Hankammer, chairman of the supervisory board at SV Wehen Wiesbaden, expressed confidence in the club's readiness for upcoming challenges, citing the broadened management team as a key factor. Meanwhile, fans of Holstein Kiel and SV Wehen Wiesbaden may find themselves lamenting the 'Woe' of not being able to watch their favorite teams in the top league, as both clubs currently compete in lower divisions.

Moreover, some soccer enthusiasts in Hesse and Schleswig-Holstein might be contemplating the possibility of their local teams making a return to the 3rd league, or even the Bundesliga, fueling excitement and anticipation for the upcoming season. This is especially true for supporters of SV Wehen Wiesbaden, as the squad looks to regain their form under the guidance of the experienced Uwe Stoever.
