Wetterau district - Wheelchair user dies after accident with truck at crosswalk
A man in a wheelchair was hit and fatally injured by a truck on a crosswalk in Bad Nauheim. The 87-year-old died on his way to hospital on Wednesday, according to the police in Giessen. He had just been pushed across the crosswalk by his wife when the truck hit him. The truck driver had overlooked the man.
The 61-year-old wanted to turn left at the intersection behind the crosswalk, according to the police. The man in the wheelchair was dragged a few meters into the intersection by the truck. His 81-year-old wife suffered a shock.
