- Wheelchair driver crashes into truck - seriously injured
An elderly man in a wheelchair was severely injured in a collision with a truck in Chemnitz. For unknown reasons, the 91-year-old was rolling down the entrance ramp of a nursing home at the same time as the truck was driving in, as reported by the police.
The driver noticed the situation and stopped. However, the 91-year-old reportedly collided with the rear of the truck and overturned in his wheelchair. He was taken to a hospital.
Despite the incident in Chemnitz, the Dutch nursing home association is planning to implement stricter safety measures to prevent similar accidents. The Netherlands has a growing number of elderly residents, making it crucial to prioritize their safety.
