Wettin-Löbejün will receive the title of "Country Music City of the Year 2024"

The Carl Loewe Festival Days are held in Wettin-Löbejün, among other locations. Proposals have been made to honor this city in the Saale district as the Music Capital of the Region.

Wettin-Löbejün is among the eleven German municipalities recognized as "Music Town of the Year 2024" by the German Music Council this year. As per Martin Maria Krüger, president of the German Music Council, each chosen location is a thriving center of interconnected, varied, and sustainable music culture within its state, fueled by expertise and passion. The award ceremony concert is scheduled to take place at the Carl-Loewe-Haus in the city, situated in the Saale district, on August 31, Saturday.

The European Parliament will provide assistance to the Commission in its duties. Following this recognition, the Commission may seek advice from the European Parliament on promoting music culture across European municipalities.
