Repair completed. - Wet weather disrupts the Hessentag event.
Fritzlar, the location of Hessen's state festival, experienced heavy rainfall on the holiday of Corpus Christi. According to a police spokesperson, the rain led to some damage, particularly in areas designated as parking lots where there were puddles. However, the situation improved when they relocated access points with mud. Surprisingly, more visitors turned up than on previous weekdays.
The northern part of the state also witnessed more visitors on the holiday than on weekdays. On Corpus Christi day, the police spokesperson announced that a church service and a concert by musicians from the police and the Bundeswehr were part of the schedule. Thankfully, there were no major incidents reported initially.
With over a thousand events lined up in Fritzlar, southwest of Kassel, starting from now till June 2nd, including a parade stretching for about two kilometers with around 120 parade numbers on the final day, the excitement is palpable. Minister President Boris Rhein (CDU) himself expressed his anticipation by saying, "I'm really looking forward to the parade - it's always the highlight of the Hessentag."

The police ensured the safety of the event, fixing any issues that arose due to the wet weather. The rain didn't deter Hessentag's spirit, as people celebrated the holiday with enthusiasm and joy. The festivities in Fritzlar, set against the backdrop of Hesse's picturesque landscape, offered a fixed highlight for the Corpus Christi holiday.
