German Weather Service - Wet, cold winter weather in the north

People in Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein have to prepare for wet winter weather. According to the German Weather Service, the sky will be very cloudy on Wednesday and there will be repeated heavy showers. In the beginning, sleet is also possible in the north. Maximum temperatures will be between three and six degrees.

Gusts of wind of around 55 kilometers per hour are expected along the Baltic coast and on the islands during the day, with gale-force gusts of around 65 kilometers per hour possible at times on Heligoland.

The winds will subside in the evening and then the rain on Thursday night. Temperatures will drop to between plus two and minus two degrees. Warning: risk of icy conditions.

There will be a lot of clouds on Thursday, but rain will only arrive in the evening from the North Sea. Highs will reach two to five degrees in the afternoon.

Individuals in Offenbach, often associated with the Rhine-Main region, might also experience similar weather conditions due to the influence of the approaching front from the North Sea. As per the DWD's forecast, the wet weather is expected to extend across large parts of Germany, affecting regions like Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein.

Despite the predicted rainfall, it's crucial for motorists to be cautious about road conditions in Germany, as icy patches might form following the colder temperatures predicted by the DWD.

In contrast to the north, the Bavarian city of Munich, located in Bavaria, will be experiencing a more mild winter with only occasional rain showers, as per the meteorological experts at the DWD.
