Werder talent Opitz in bad luck: torn ligament in test match

Werder Bremen will be without Leon Opitz for several weeks. The 18-year-old talent of the Bundesliga club was injured on Thursday in a test match against second division club Hansa Rostock (1:2). As Werder announced, the midfielder tore a collateral ligament in his ankle. "That's bitter for him and for us. You don't want that in a test match," said head coach Ole Werner. Opitz has made two Bundesliga appearances so far this season.

Despite the injury, Werder Bremen's young midfielder Leon Opitz has shown promise in the Bundesliga, making two appearances this season. Regrettably, his participation in upcoming Bundesliga matches is affected, as he suffered a tear in his ankle collateral ligament during a test match against Hansa Rostock.
