Werder Bremen must do without defender Pieper for longer
Werder Bremen will have to do without defender Amos Pieper for some time. The central defender suffered a fracture to his right ankle in training on Wednesday, as the Bundesliga club announced. The 25-year-old will have to undergo surgery and will not be available to the Green-Whites for the time being.
"That's really bitter for Amos. We will give him every support on his way back and hope that he can return to the team as soon as possible," said Werder coach Ole Werner. "But we won't be able to plan with him again until next year."
With Amos Pieper's absence due to his ankle fracture, Werder Bremen's defense will need to adapt during his recovery period in the Bundesliga. Despite his injury, the team will continue to keep him in their thoughts, eagerly anticipating his return to the pitch next year.
