Local government - Weißwasser's mayoral election sees Pötzsch opting out of the race.

Poetzsch, who has served as the mayor of the eastern Saxon city of Weißwasser since 2010, started a voters' alliance called Klartext(Cleartext) alongside some like-minded individuals prior to his mayorship. His efforts resulted in local recognition. In 2020, he was honored with the prestigious German National Prize by the German National Foundation for his dedication to challenging hatred and societal division.
