Finances - Weil: Solid budget in stormy times
Lower Saxony's Minister President Stephan Weil believes that the state budget adopted for the coming year provides a solid starting point. It is a solid budget in turbulent times, said the SPD politician in Hanover on Thursday.
Weil named the increase in many teachers' salaries as one of the state government's important plans for the coming year. "Behind this is equal pay for teachers at schools in Lower Saxony, regardless of the type of school," said the Minister President.
At the start of the 2024/25 school year, the salary of many teachers is to be increased. A13 is the salary level that grammar school teachers currently receive, but not their colleagues at other schools.
Weil also focused on the foundation of the state housing company for the new year, which is intended to create more affordable housing.
