Weather - Weekend brings heat, sun and thunderstorms to Bavaria
The weather in Bavaria could make many football fans sweat before the German team's quarterfinal match against Denmark on Saturday evening. The German Weather Service (DWD) warned on Friday, looking towards Saturday afternoon, for many low-lying regions in the Free State, about heat with temperatures reaching up to 34 degrees. People should drink sufficient water and keep their indoor spaces cool.
At least in the hours following the kick-off of the EM-match at 21.00 hours, it could become rainy and uncomfortable in parts of Bavaria. "It will likely be more critical towards Unterfranken," said a DWD meteorologist on Friday. There, a tropical low-pressure system could bring strong showers. Otherwise, the chances for dry live broadcasts in the open air in the evening are quite good. However, meteorologists expect further rain showers, moving from Oberschwaben towards northwest, during the night until Sunday.
The Sunday is expected to start sunny in the eastern parts of Bavaria, but from the west, rainy showers and thunderstorms with occasional strong gusts of wind are expected. The temperatures are predicted to rise to around 28 degrees.
The coming week is expected to start in Bavaria with temperatures up to 22 degrees, significantly cooler than before, with many clouds, occasional rain, and individual thunderstorms on Monday.
Weather forecast Bavaria DWD
Soccer fans heading to Munich for Germany's quarterfinal match against Denmark on Sunday might encounter rainy showers and thunderstorms, as predicted by the German Weather Service (DWD). Despite the cloudy start in the eastern parts of Bavaria, temperatures are expected to reach around 28 degrees. Previously, DWD warned about heat in Bavaria during the weekend, with a potential tropical low-pressure system bringing strong showers to Unterfranken. This change in weather is a stark contrast to the temperatures reaching up to 34 degrees predicted earlier in the week.
