- Wedding attendees subjected to assault with standard templates and projectiles
A fifty-two-year-old individual is under suspicion for launching rockets and pyrotechnics at a wedding celebration, originating from the house windows in Lower Franconia. On Saturday night in Stadtlauringen (Swisseinfurt's district), two officers received minor injuries due to the event, as detailed by police reports. Thankfully, the wedding attendees remained unscathed.
Upon the arrival of the initial police unit, pyrotechnics still continued to be discharged from the neighboring house towards the wedding party. The suspect initially ignored the police presence. An additional pyrotechnic went off nearby, causing temporary hearing damage to the two officers but enabling them to resume their work.
Police encircled the property and apprehended the suspect
A number of patrol vehicles encircled the location. After exchanging words with the officers, the man supposedly stopped launching pyrotechnics and surrendered willingly.
Under the influence of alcohol with a reading of 1.34%, the fifty-two-year-old was also believed to be experiencing a mental health crisis. Law enforcement transported him to a district hospital for observation. Investigations are ongoing, as the man is being accused of causing bodily harm, assaulting on-duty officers, and violating explosives regulations.
The officers requested backup from their colleagues, as they needed assistance in apprehending the suspect.Subsequently, the Police department issued a warning to the neighbors, advising them to maintain a safe distance due to the ongoing situation.
