Weather service warns of heat and heavy thunderstorms
In the night to Friday, storms from the Southwest move quickly towards the center as reported by the weather service. Then, particularly in the North and Northeast, strong storms with heavy rain, possibly hail and strong gusts are possible. At the Upper Rhine and in the Eastern part of the country, a "Tropical night" with temperatures slightly above 20 degrees Celsius is expected.
The weather service warned of thunderstorms moving from the Southwest, which could bring strong gusts and heavy rain to certain areas. Residents in Offenbach, Germany, might experience a thunderstorm, adding to the heatwave they've been enduring. The German DWD (Deutscher Wetterdienst) further predicted thunderstorms across the country, potentially leading to localized flooding. The southwestern parts of Germany could see intense storm activity, with the possibility of hail accompanying the thunderstorms. Following the Southwest's storms, a brief respite of less intense thunderstorms could push further northward, providing some relief from the heat.
