In North Rhine-Westphalia, some challenging weather conditions are on the horizon for the start of the week. As per the German Weather Service (DWD), showers and thunderstorms will initially burst out in the southwest from around mid-morning, spreading up northward throughout the day. The potential for hefty rainfall, along with localized severe weather featuring gusty winds, and upwards of 40 liters per square meter, is quite likely. Daily temperatures are expected to hover around 27 to 30 degrees Celsius. Tucking in for the night, meteorologists predict the storms to gradually weaken, with nighttime temperatures dipping between 14 to 19 degrees Celsius.
Similar warm and moist weather awaits us on Tuesday. The temperature forecast is set at 26 to 29 degrees Celsius, with showers and thunderstorms, focusing mainly east of the Rhine, predicted to ramp up coming afternoon hours. Evening showers and thunderstorms, with overnight temperatures of 12 to 17 degrees Celsius, are also on the agenda. There's a possibility of extended periods of heavy rain.
Rain and thunderstorms, with localized heavy rainfall, are forecast for Wednesday as well. Daily temperatures will range between 22 and 25 degrees Celsius.
The meteorological forecast for Thursday indicates another day of rain and thunderstorms. The hurricane-like conditions might bring unusually high rainfall amounts to some regions.
Despite the persistent showers, temperatures are expected to stay relatively high, hovering around 21 to 24 degrees Celsius on Thursday.
