Neubrandenburg - Wave of illness: clinic postpones scheduled operations
The Dietrich Bonhoeffer Clinic in Neubrandenburg is postponing scheduled operations due to the current wave of illness. For the time being, no more patients will be admitted for scheduled operations, the hospital announced on Tuesday. The reasons for this are the high sickness rate and many patients infected with coronavirus and influenza. "Our ability to work is currently limited, but we will still provide our patients with good care," it said.
According to the information, more than 100 patients with a corona infection and ten flu patients who have to be isolated were recently treated at the hospital and the Bethesda Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Older People, which belongs to the company. According to earlier information, masks are also compulsory for visitors and employees at the Bethesda Clinic when in close contact with patients. This is also the case at other hospitals in MV.

The surge in Covid-19 and influenza cases in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern has led to an increased number of patients, including over 100 with coronavirus, requiring treatment at hospitals such as the Dietrich Bonhoeffer Clinic in Neubrandenburg. The high sickness rate and hospital capacity constraints have resulted in the clinic temporarily postponing scheduled operations to ensure adequate healthcare for all patients. Despite these challenges, the clinic assures that they will continue to provide excellent care to their patients. The ongoing wave of illness has also necessitated the implementation of mandatory mask usage for visitors and employees in close proximity to patients at several hospitals across Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
