- Water safety officials handle multiple vessel mishaps
Water Enforcement has been active in handling numerous boating mishaps over the past few days. Thankfully, no casualties were reported as per the statements made by the Water Enforcement in Potsdam.
Last Friday, the engine of a passenger vessel in Brandenburg Niederhavel surprisingly conked out, leading the ship to drift towards a dock, and bump into two motorboats anchored in Brandenburg an der Havel. Properties sustained considerable damage in this incident. Furthermore, a man in Brandenburg Niederhavel reported his water motorcycle missing from a dock.
On Saturday, a motorboat got stuck on a sandbar in Plauer See in Brandenburg an der Havel and remained trapped. The same incident occurred in the Großer Zernsee, west of Potsdam. In both instances, the boat drivers were not accustomed to the routes.
On the Untere-Havel-Wasserstraße in Potsdam, a cabin cruiser's driver failed to notice an approaching passenger ship and crashed into its side, causing only property damage. Another incident in Potsdam saw a woman in a leased houseboat not noticing a navigation buoy and getting stuck on it, necessitating the Water Enforcement to tow the entire vehicle to the shore.
The Water police in Brandenburg an der Havel were called to manage the incident where a passenger vessel's engine failed, leading to a collision with two anchored motorboats. In Potsdam, the Water police had to assist a woman who got her leased houseboat stuck on a navigation buoy.
