Weather - Water levels continue to fall in Bavaria

The flood situation in Bavaria continued to ease over the weekend. On Sunday, only a few water gauges, particularly on the Danube in Lower Bavaria, were still reporting levels one or two. It was expected that the water levels would largely return to normal by the beginning of the week. The flood information service had already announced on Saturday that the flooding in Bavaria would end with the dry weather.

Melting snow and rain had caused the water levels of some bodies of water in Bavaria to rise rapidly over the past few days. The authorities had issued warnings at times, particularly on the Danube and its southern tributaries.

The German Weather Service announced continued sunny weather in Bavaria at the weekend. Only in the middle of the week was normal or snow expected again in the mountains.
