Yesterday's water supply disruption in parts of the city of Wilhelmshaven has been largely resolved, with repairs to damaged pipes expected to be completed today, according to a spokesperson for the local supplier, GEW Wilhelmshaven.

However, as of the afternoon, the water supply was not yet fully restored. "We urge residents to continue using water cautiously," said the press spokesperson in a statement. "I deeply regret that there have been restrictions in the supply of this essential resource in Wilhelmshaven." The number of households still affected by the water supply disruption on Wednesday was initially unclear.

Damage to water pipes on Tuesday caused a drop in pressure throughout the city, with some areas experiencing a complete loss of water supply. Over 45,000 households were affected in the afternoon, with temperatures reaching highs typical of summer, according to the city of Wilhelmshaven. Repairs to some of the damage were carried out shortly after the incident.

Despite the repairs completed on damaged pipes, some areas in Wilhelmshaven are still experiencing intermittent water supply issues. Residents are advised to conserve water to ensure adequate supplies for everyone until the situation normalizes.
