The state office reported that the highest average water consumption of 150 liters and more per day was observed in Bottrop, Düsseldorf, Mülheim an der Ruhr, and Cologne. Comparatively low consumption was recorded in Solingen, Bonn, Remscheid, Höxter, and the district of Warendorf.

In addition, analyzing the statistics, it was found that Bottrop, Düsseldorf, Mülheim an der Ruhr, and Cologne had the highest average water consumption among the surveyed cities.
