Defective sewage treatment plant - Wastewater causes fish to die in the Jagst

Due to a technical fault in the clarification plant in Crailsheim (District of Schwaebisch Hall), sewage has flowed out and into the Jagst river. A spokesperson for the commune announced this. There has been fish deaths. The Angling Club Crailsheim (ASV) was able to retrieve approximately 200 kilograms of dead fish during a first major action on Thursday, according to ASV chairman Michael Stephan, as reported by SWR. The technical fault has been rectified, the commune announced.

The incident occurred in the Swabian Hall district, specifically in Crailsheim. The sewage treatment plant in Crailsheim faced an issue, leading to environmental pollution in the Jagst river. The municipality of Crailsheim, after addressing the issue at the sewage treatment plant, is now focusing on waste water management to prevent future incidents, as part of its environmental responsibility in Baden-Württemberg.
