Tariffs - Warning strikes: restrictions at day nurseries and the university hospital
Patients at Jena University Hospital and parents of after-school children in Thuringia will once again have to prepare for strike-related restrictions on Wednesday. One day before the possibly decisive round of collective bargaining in the public sector of the federal states, several trade unions are calling for warning strikes in Thuringia. The central rally is planned in Jena. Verdi is calling for a 36-hour warning strike at the university hospital. As with previous strikes, acute care is guaranteed, the university hospital announced. Restrictions are to be expected for planned treatments. Patients will be informed in advance if treatment appointments are canceled.
State employees in the Thuringian education system have also been called out on a warning strike. This recently affected after-school care, among other things. After-school care workers have also been explicitly called to strike on Wednesday. Teaching, on the other hand, is likely to be less affected as teachers are mostly civil servants and are not allowed to strike.
