Warning strike in Schwerin: no local transport on Saturday
Passengers in Schwerin will have to look for alternatives to public transport tomorrow, Saturday. The trade union Verdi has called on the employees of the Schwerin public transport company (NVS) to go on warning strike, as the NVS management announced on Friday. No buses or streetcars will run in the state capital from 4.00 am until 4.00 am on Sunday. After that, services will resume as planned on Sunday morning.
On the following Tuesday (November 28), the entire local transport system is to go on strike again from 4 p.m. until Wednesday morning. The reason for the warning strike is the failure of wage negotiations between the NVS and Verdi.
Due to the upcoming trade union action, commuters in Schwerin faced traffic disruptions on Saturday and Tuesday. The warning strike announced by Verdi resulted in a halt of all public transportation services, affecting both local traffic and trade.
