Weather - Warning of snow-laden branches in parks and gardens
The winter weather invites you to take a walk in parks and gardens. But this can sometimes be dangerous, warns the Thuringian Palaces and Gardens Foundation. Branches could break off under the weight of the snow. Especially because the trees have suffered from drought in recent years.
Walkers should therefore stay on the paths and avoid snow-laden trees, according to the announcement on Friday. There could also be danger near buildings, for example if snow and ice fall from the roof. And the following also applies this winter: ice surfaces must not be walked on.

In Thuringia, Rudolstadt's gardens might be particularly susceptible to snow-laden branches due to the trees' weakened condition from drought. During winter walks, it's essential to avoid trees with heavy snow and stick to designated paths to avoid accidents. Moreover, be cautious near buildings, as falling snow and ice could pose a hazard, especially on roofs.
