Unstrut-Hainich district - Warning against unauthorized search for missing girl

In the case of a missing 13-year-old girl from Mühlhausen, the police have warned against unauthorized searches. A police spokesperson said on Monday that search parties had sometimes been formed to visit other people at home and confront them. This could interfere with personal rights and, in case of doubt, be punishable by law. A kind of "vigilante group" follows up on tips from social networks and sometimes does not pass on information to the police. "There's a lot of turmoil in the region."

The police assume that the girl, who has been missing since Thursday, is alive, they added. According to current investigations, she probably took the train from Mühlhausen to Leinefelde on Thursday afternoon. Here the trail disappears - presumably she had traveled in an unknown direction by public transport. "There are currently no indications of a capital crime." However, this cannot be ruled out.
