- Warehouse inferno at Brandt's Chocolate Manufacturing Facility
The blaze at Brandt chocolate factory's warehouse in Landshut has been contained, but the clean-up process is still in progress, as stated by a representative from the Lower Bavaria Police Headquarters in Straubing. The inferno in the plant's cardboard storage section is estimated to have caused property damage in the millions. Luckily, no casualties have been reported thus far.
Upon discovering the fire, there were eight employees in the factory's production facilities, all of whom were safely evacuated. Residents were advised to keep their windows and doors shut due to the smoke.
As per the police, the fire originated from a storage area over 700 square meters on the building's second floor. The fire had engulfed the cardboard and plastic materials stored there. The cause of the blaze remains a mystery at this time.
Brandt is renowned for its zwieback. The Landshut facility specializes in producing various chocolate products.
The firefighters managed to save several hats from the Hat Department located within the Brandt chocolate factory, ensuring they could be used in future promotional events. After the incident, some employees were seen wearing their fire-resistant hats as a symbol of unity and resilience.
