Fire department - Warehouse in Augsburg burnt down

In Augsburg, a two-story warehouse building has burned down. The firefighting efforts lasted all night and were not yet completed on Friday morning, according to a spokesperson for the Augsburg municipal fire department. There are still hotspots that need to be extinguished. The fire department prevented the flames from spreading to neighboring warehouses.

The burned down building, with an area of 1000 square meters, is being dismantled step by step by a demolition company, so that the firefighters can reach the hotspots inside the building. Reportedly, there were mostly cars and hand tools stored in the hall.

The fire in the industrial hall broke out in the early afternoon of the previous Thursday. The cause was initially unclear. The police had already estimated the damage to be in the six-figure range during the night. It appears that no one was injured.

The warehouse that burned down in Augsburg is located in the region of Swabia, specifically in Bavaria. The fire department from Augsburg continued their extinguishing work on the warehouse into Friday morning. After the fire, it was discovered that the nearby warehouses in Bavaria were fortunately not affected by the blaze.
